Doha and Beyond: Placing Nepal on the Global Tech Map

Web Summit Qatar 2026 just wrapped up, and for the 30,000 attendees from 127 countries, it was a massive display of where the industry is headed. For us, it was something more specific. Standing as the only company representing Nepal among 1,600 startups and nearly 1,000 investors wasn't just a point of pride, it was a confirmation of our trajectory. We didn't go to Doha to be spectators. We went to actively benchmark our work against the world’s most emerging tech leaders.
The Path to the Global Stage
Building a company is one thing; taking it to a global showcase in less than a year is another. We established Tingting with a clear conviction, and seeing it at the Web Summit Qatar selected for the Startup Showcase so early in its life cycle validates that we are solving universal problems, not just local ones.
At our stall, the conversations shifted quickly from "Who are you?" to "How does this scale?" When we spoke with leaders from other emerging markets, we realized that the need for intuitive, understanding-focused communication is universal. Our product line isn't just a collection of features; it’s an ecosystem designed to make every interaction feel more human and less like a chore at scale. This is the confidence we carry back to Kathmandu. We’ve seen that our product lines can hold their own in a room full of global veterans. We aren't just "starting"; we are setting a pace.
Prioritizing Understanding Over Listening
A major theme we explored during our showcase was the core philosophy we carry. Many companies talk about "listening" to their users, but we’ve realized that listening is often too passive, it's just collecting data points.
We are moving toward an entire communication suite that prioritizes understanding. What does that look like in practice? It means moving beyond the transaction. It means building an ecosystem where Tingting and our other product lines don’t just "function", but actually comprehend the friction points of the communities they serve. In Doha, we found a global hunger for this exact approach, tech that feels human and intuitive because it was built from a place of deep user empathy.
The scale of Web Summit Qatar 2026 was immense, with over 30,000 participants bringing together a truly multipolar tech world.
We are returning home with more than just business cards; we have a sharper perspective on our product roadmap and a reinforced commitment to our national story.
What's Next
The "new global order" in tech is being built by architects from every corner of the world. By proactively seeking out these international platforms, we’ve ensured that Nepal has a seat at that table.
Our work with TingTing is just the beginning of this evolution. We’ve wrapped up the event, but our focus is now wider, our goals are more assertive, and our understanding of our users is deeper than ever.
